Tilt-a-whirl

I wanted to put the rocks in the small lake in the foreground, but I didn't want to lie down to do it. I just sat at ground level and trusted my auto-focus to nail the rocks. It did its job, but I need to figure out how to hold that camera more level! I'd hate for all the water to run out of this pretty lake.

  1. The Pros don't always get that right in difficult situations, what counts is the shot. I have a tripod that allows me to undersling the camera but I haven't figure how to focus inches off the ground yet, so I crop or free transform to suit for those shots. Yours is great, Don't Sweat it!

  2. Aw, with all the rain they have been getting it would just fill right back up! :)

This is just a spectacular scene...couldn't you just stare at that all day?

  3. Wonderful wiew and I know what you mean by holding the camera straight..... I sometimes use the leading lines I can get on my camerascreen - is that cheating? ;-)

  4. Nice shot. If you have iPhoto or another photo editing program you can always straighten out your shots after wards. However, I think it's beautiful as is.

  7. Mattafoto - no crop, straight out of camera....crooked and all! :-) This was taken above Mohawk Lakes, in Summit County, Colorado. Trailhead is just south of Breckenridge.

  8. A beautiful photo of a beautiful place. I can't hold a camera straight either, so I depend on Photoshop to do the job.
